Fair Go Policy
Ryans Fair Go Policy is to provide a broad reach to as many customers as possible when a special is available. Limits apply to make the distribution as fair as possible. Limits also apply to stop onselling of goods and to ensure the produce goes directly to our domestic clients. At the cash registers – we enter specials as per limits set out (no double up for 2 -3 people standing together etc) to ensure the limits are adhered to and also to allow our end of day takings to correlate with specials and limits provided.
Facebook/ Instagram Guidelines
Ryans has guidlelines for the general public commenting on our Social Media pages.
For information on thse guidelines -see Our Story on Ryan’s Fruit and Veg, Adelaide
How to contact us / Phone
To contact us for all enquiries please visit us in person in the store.
We do not have a phone number at the store.
Why don’t we have a phone?
Ryans are able to to keep prices low by keeping all staff active serving customers in store. Please understand we get these queries repeatedly over a day. To answer all queries, we would need a full time person managing enquiries over the phone. This then would led to an increase in cost of fruit and veg to pay that person. Something I am sure you nor other customers would want to see happen. To keep Customers updated of stock -myself and staff attempt to post a video /banner of specials.Often done before opening, during a quiet period or after the store close.
Limits – why are there limits on certain specials?
We limit the amount on certain specials to ensure every customer has the opportunity to receive the cheapest special available. By setting limits we are able to restrict other business, restaurants etc from bulk buying and reselling. Our main aim is to feed Victorian families. These limits are to ensure we can offer the specials as many families as possible.
Limits – at Cash Registers
At the cash registers – we enter specials as per limits set out (no double up for 2 -3 people standing together etc) to ensure the limits are adhered to and also to allow our end of day takings to correlate with specials and limits provided.
Locally sourced produce
Fresh produce is always better sourced locally so when possible and conditions or seasons are favourable then we buy local grown produce. Australia is a big lucky country, so if we cannot buy local then produce will usually be grown somewhere in Australia. So if it’s not local it’s Australian grown. This excludes a couple of products (garlic and kiwi) which is difficult to supply all year with Australian grown.
So our produce is local, or It’s Australian.
And it’s cheap.
Lost and found- Can you look for something I think I lost or misplaced at your store?
Ryans are able to to keep prices low by keeping all staff active serving customers in store. Recently we have had so many enquiries regarding lost items that a lot of valuable time serving customers has been lost. Due to this we ask that you visit us in store to enquire about items lost or misplaced.
Insects and bugs on produce.
Fresh produce is grown outdoors in the natural environment which has insects and bugs. Farms do use some pesticides to deal with these insects and bugs but that does not guarantee that there will be no insects and bugs at the time of customer purchase.
We think that insects and bugs are naturally occurring and if you do see them on your produce is does not mean it is a terrible thing. It’s just part of eating a fresh piece of produce that has not been drowned in a pesticide.
(Sometimes worms will go from the wet ground up into the vegetable. Unfortunately, there is almost no stopping this and it usually occurs in very wet winter months as the worms are looking to escape the soaked earth)
If you feel the produce is not useable you may return it to us for a refund or exchange.
(Please note this will be assessed on a case by case basis. We will not refund/replace produce purchased a week old)

Please make an exception for me? I need answers on Price and Products over Social Media

Receipt mistake / I think I was overcharged?
If there are any problems with your receipt or there is something you feel is priced incorrectly. Please ask for the Manager when next in store for clarification / or possible credit / refund. Our Facebook person / marketing staff are not permitted to issue exchanges or refunds.
Road-Side Specials
These specials are advertised only on board / boards outside the store for local passing traffic. They are not advertised on Facebook, Instagram or Web as they are generally last minute, very limited stock specials which may only last anywhere between One to several hours in duration.
Specials
We do not have set days for any Specials. Some Specials can run for only a day and some for over a week. Because we work fresh from the markets and direct off farms, our specials depend on what the farms are producing. So if you see a great deal-then grab it, as it might run out soon.
But rest assured there is always something cheap and on special.
Specials – tell me early what is special for certain day?
We work straight from Market, so we often do not know specials until the evening or early morning of special. So please look out for specials posted here on Facebook after 6pm the night before or prior to the store opening on the morning of the advertised special
Spoilt Produce
We are sorry to hear your produce didn’t last as long as you wanted.
It is our highest priority to build trust with our customers. That means that we will deliver constant fresh produce at the cheapest price all year round.
However there will be the odd occasion when the product comes through that may not be up to our standards. For this we ask that you don’t judge us on a bad apple but on whether we have supplied you constantly all year with quality fresh food for less than anyone else. Bring back with either docket or produce in store for a refund or exchange. Or speak to us via Pm on facebook.
